I developed my first roll of film this week. I had to sit in a dark room without a sliver of light, and then take my film out of the case, and roll the film onto a reel. It was so hard. I rolled the film too tight on the reel and so the first part of the film touched when put in chemicals and were ruined. I am so glad this was a practice roll. I took pictures of Black objects on Black. Grey on Grey, white on white and then some random pictures of things around the house. Most of the pictures have a line going through them where I rolled the reel wrong, but I am hoping to save a few. There is one I took of Kyle feet that I want to enlarge. I want a darkroom so bad! It is so much fun. I love this class.I took a scan of the negative
to get a better look at the image of Kyle's feet. This is the best I could get it... the colors are a bit off, I quickly adjusted the hues a bit in Photoshop. It was a brownish color. It is grainy from the scanner's attempt to enlarge the image. But I was happy to get a closer look. :)
aw, i'm sorry about the film roll... yes, i too have sacrificed many a good picture to the tank gods (ha)!
ReplyDeletei would just sit on the couch and practice rolling a dummy-roll on to the reel over and over again. eventually you can do it with your eyes closed... keep it up!!
