The Stones are Crying Out
It happened to be during Vienna's nap time so I didn't hear everything. It was still amazing and I am so glad we did this tour.

This was interesting, because this is a stone of an Assyrian king. It was made hundreds of years before Jesus was on earth, but he is wearing a cross, which you can see around his neck.
This part of the tour was pretty eye opening, the brother leading the tour pointed these doors out to us, and said "Would you want to knock at this door in the preaching work?" Which I related really well to because my greatest weakness this. These doors were massive. He then stated that these were doors from inside the assyrian walls, so the doors that Jonah would have knocked on would likely be MUCH larger. He then said that the Assyrians were known for their violent ways and outside the city doors they would pile the heads of people that were unwelcomed to Assyria. It is understandable why Jonah was so frightened when Jehovah sent him there. It's hard to make out all that is going on in this picture but you can see the Assyrian's holding heads, on the bottom left you can see one man tossing a head to another man. I wish I had been taking notes, but we read a few scriptures throughout the tour.

In this picture the winged bird type carving is their god, and as you can see their god is carrying a human head, which shows that their god was violent. We know that God hates violence.
